Microsoft has rolled out three new Windows 11 Insider Preview builds across its Beta and Experimental channels, bringing interface refinements and new accessibility options to testers. The update includes build 26220.9223 for the Beta channel, while the Experimental channel receives build 26340.9233. Additionally, users on the Experimental (26H1) track are receiving build 28120.2760.

A primary focus of these releases is the modernization of the Autoplay experience. The dialog box, which appears when external devices like cameras, phones, or removable drives are connected, has been rebuilt using WinUI. This update aligns the interface with the broader Windows 11 design language, offering full support for both light and dark modes. The new dialog is also more responsive to system-wide text scaling and display settings, and its associated notifications are now properly integrated into the Windows Notification Center.

The update also introduces a new accessibility feature designed to streamline workspace management. Users can now enable an "Open apps maximized" setting, which forces all application windows to launch in a maximized state automatically. Microsoft notes that this feature is intended to reduce friction for users who rely on screen readers or magnification, as well as those working in tablet mode or who simply prefer a consistent full-screen environment.

To activate the new window management behavior, users can navigate to the Settings app, select Accessibility, and then choose Visual effects to toggle the "Open apps maximized" option. This setting is available to testers in both the Beta and Experimental channels.

Beyond these functional changes, the latest Experimental build addresses a specific technical issue that previously caused the Feature Flags list to appear empty for users. Microsoft confirmed that installing the new build should restore the visibility of these flags, allowing Insiders to properly manage experimental features once again.
