A significant update to the Cloud rebuild recovery tool allows for more thorough device sanitization during the restoration process. This feature, which restores a system to a clean state by performing a full OS reinstall, now includes options to sanitize drives as part of the rebuild. Additionally, IT administrators gain the ability to configure and initiate these Cloud rebuild operations remotely through the Recovery Configuration Service Provider, streamlining maintenance for managed devices.
Accessibility improvements in the Experimental channel include a new contrast theme toggle within the Magnifier tool. This addition is designed to assist users who find bright screens uncomfortable, offering a way to reduce glare without the broad color inversion that typically affects photos, charts, and videos. By providing a targeted contrast adjustment, the update aims to maintain visual clarity for media while improving overall screen comfort.
The Experimental builds also introduce a refined animation for the mouse indicator. Users can now enable this feature through the accessibility settings menu. Microsoft has further added a persistent mode for the indicator, allowing it to remain active on the screen until the user manually dismisses it by pressing the escape key. These changes reflect an ongoing effort to provide more granular control over visual accessibility aids within the Windows interface.
These updates are currently limited to the Windows Insider Program, allowing testers to evaluate the new recovery and accessibility functions before they reach the general public. While the Beta channel build focuses on stability, the Experimental channel builds provide a look at features currently in development for future platform iterations.
