Intel Corporation reported a 25 percent increase in sales for the second quarter of 2026, marking the company's most significant revenue growth in more than fifteen years. CEO Lip-Bu Tan attributed the performance to robust demand for compute resources and improved operational execution across the company's CPU franchise, ASICs, and advanced packaging divisions.
The financial results were bolstered by higher factory yields and improved cycle times, according to CFO Dave Zinsner. To sustain this momentum, Intel plans to increase investments in equipment, clean room space, and substrates to support growth across its product and foundry businesses throughout the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
Intel's product strategy continues to focus on agentic AI infrastructure, highlighted by the launch of the Xeon 6+ data center processor. This chip represents the company's first server-class product built on the Intel 18A process node, designed to maintain performance under real-world power constraints. Additionally, the company introduced the Intel Arc G-Series, a new processor family specifically engineered for handheld gaming systems.
In the foundry sector, Intel 18A-P has entered risk production, adhering to previously established timelines. The company has also commenced high-volume manufacturing for a subset of its Core Ultra Series 3 processors, known as Panther Lake, utilizing ASML's EXE High NA EUV lithography technology. Further expansion efforts include a €5 billion investment to increase production capacity for Intel Xeon 6 and future processors built on the Intel 3 process.
The company also announced several leadership changes to align its organizational structure with its current innovation priorities. Alex Katouzian will lead the Client Computing and Physical AI Group, while Pushkar Ranade has been appointed as chief technology officer. Seok-Hee Lee will oversee advanced packaging, and Aparna Bawa will manage global legal, ethics, compliance, and culture initiatives.
