Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has sold 3.5 million units within its first 14 days of availability. The publisher confirmed in its Q1 2026 financial report that this performance has already exceeded the company's annual sales expectations for the title, which launched on July 9, 2026.
The commercial success of the remake serves as a notable highlight in an otherwise challenging financial quarter for Ubisoft. The company reported Q1 net bookings of 256 million euros, a 9% decline compared to the same period last year. While this figure narrowly surpassed the publisher's internal guidance, the broader financial results reflect ongoing instability within the organization.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot attributed the strong launch to the enduring popularity of the Assassin's Creed brand and the quality of the remake, which was developed by Vantage Studios. The game has achieved an 84 rating on both Metacritic and OpenCritic, marking it as the highest-rated entry in the franchise since the original 2013 release of Black Flag.
Despite the positive reception for the remake, Ubisoft continues to navigate a period of significant corporate restructuring. Guillemot noted that the company is continuing its transformation, which includes targeted rightsizing and a strategic focus on high-potential opportunities. These measures follow a series of layoffs throughout the year, including staff reductions at Ubisoft Barcelona and the closure of studios in Halifax and Stockholm.
The publisher's financial report also highlighted the performance of other titles, noting that the rest of its portfolio, including Rainbow Six Siege, met internal expectations. Additionally, the company credited the mobile title Invincible: Guarding the Globe for contributing to its revenue performance during the quarter.
