Apple officially unveiled the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 on Wednesday, focusing on health monitoring, battery efficiency, and software enhancements rather than significant physical design changes. The new models maintain the familiar aesthetic of their predecessors, consistent with reports that major hardware overhauls were not expected for this generation.
Accompanying the new hardware is a comprehensive refresh of the Apple Watch band collection, which introduces a variety of new colors and materials. The updated Sport Band lineup now includes options such as Navy Blue, Magenta, Olive, Burgundy, Wildflower Blue, Pale Succulent, Sand, and Black. For the Apple Watch Ultra 4, the Ocean Band has been updated with a translucent silicone material available in Gray, Kelp, and Black.
The company also expanded its premium offerings with new Hermès-branded accessories. These include the water-resistant Hermès En Mer knit band and the rubber-based Hermès Scub'H Diving band, both designed specifically for the Ultra 4. Additionally, a new titanium version of the Hermès Grand H bracelet is available for the rugged model, priced at $2,199.
Standard band options have also seen updates, with the Milanese Loop and Link Bracelet now offered in Radiant Gold and Natural finishes to complement the new titanium cases. The Modern Buckle, available for 42mm models, now features a woven material with gold hardware options. Most of these new bands are compatible with previous Apple Watch generations, allowing existing users to update their look without purchasing a new watch.
The new Apple Watch bands are available for order immediately, with retail store availability scheduled to begin on Friday, September 18. While the watches themselves emphasize internal improvements and new health-sensing capabilities, the extensive band refresh provides a wide range of aesthetic choices for both the standard and Ultra models.
