Amazon integrates Luna cloud gaming into Prime Video app

Amazon has begun integrating its Luna cloud gaming service into the Prime Video platform, aiming to increase visibility for its game library among existing subscribers. Starting today, users in the United States and the United Kingdom who own Fire TV devices will see a new Games tab within the Prime Video interface, allowing them to launch titles without navigating to a separate application.

The integration is designed to simplify the discovery process for Prime members, who already have access to a rotating selection of games as part of their subscription. Jeff Gattis, Amazon’s general manager of gaming, stated that the move is intended to make games easier to find and play, positioning Luna as a playable layer within the company's broader entertainment ecosystem.

The available library includes a mix of high-profile titles such as Hogwarts Legacy, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and EA Sports FC 26, alongside a curated collection of social party games like Ticket to Ride and Clue. Users can play these titles using a Bluetooth-enabled controller or by utilizing a smartphone as a controller via the Luna Controller app.

This rollout marks a strategic shift for Amazon, which has moved away from attempting to compete directly with dedicated gaming consoles and high-end PCs. Instead, the company is focusing on reaching casual players who do not own specialized gaming hardware. Amazon indicated that this integration is the beginning of a broader expansion, with plans to bring the feature to additional devices and countries in the coming months.

The move follows a period of restructuring for the Luna service, which previously removed features such as the ability for users to stream their own purchased titles or connect to third-party storefronts like Ubisoft+ and EA. While the standalone Luna app remains available, the Prime Video integration serves as a primary gateway for video subscribers to access the service's content.
