Asobi app enables PlayStation 5 remote play on Steam Deck and Steam Machine hardware

The Asobi app provides a remote play client for streaming PlayStation 4 and 5 games to Steam hardware. It replicates PlayStation Portal features, including haptic feedback, 4K upscaling, and 1080p/60fps streaming. While a free version offers 1080p/30fps, a premium version with advanced features is planned for Steam. Users with PS Plus Premium can also stream games from the cloud via Asobi, bypassing the need for a physical console or Portal device. Valve recently notified European customers of a cyberattack targeting CEVA Logistics, its hardware distribution partner. The breach occurred between July 29 and August 1, potentially compromising names, addresses, and email addresses. Payment information remains secure as it is stored on Valve's servers, not the third party's. Additionally, a new Steam Machine faceplate mod functions as a Steam Controller dock. It uses the controller's dongle and a USB-C connection for charging, serving as either a console attachment or a standalone stand.

Asobi allows Steam Deck and Steam Machine users to stream PlayStation 4 and 5 games. The premium version of Asobi supports haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 4K upscaling.

A cyberattack on CEVA Logistics compromised personal data of Valve's European hardware customers. Compromised data includes names and addresses, but payment information was not affected.
