Intel Core 5 320 processor delivers significant performance gains in mini PC applications

The Intel Core 5 320 processor, featured in the Acemagic Kron K5 mini PC, offers substantial performance improvements over previous-generation Intel N-series chips. Benchmarks indicate a 90% increase in single-core performance and a 124% boost in multi-core performance compared to the N150. The chip features two performance cores and four low-power efficient cores, providing a total of six cores and six threads. It supports AV1 hardware encoding via its integrated graphics, a feature absent in previous Intel budget mini PCs. While the device demonstrates strong performance in tasks like video encoding and general desktop responsiveness, it faces thermal challenges, reaching 93°C under load. The system includes 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD, though the RAM is not user-replaceable. The Kron K5 is housed in a plastic chassis and features a 65W power supply. While it is not a dedicated gaming machine, it handles titles like Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 at 1080p with playable frame rates, marking a notable step forward for budget-friendly mini PC hardware.
