Linus Tech Tips upgrades a staff member's home office and motorcycle seat

Linus Tech Tips performed a comprehensive $5,000 technology and lifestyle upgrade for a staff member, Robert Lau. The project included a complete PC overhaul, transitioning from a large tower to a compact Jonsbo D32 Pro Micro-ATX chassis. The new build features an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X processor, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and an ASRock A620AI Wi-Fi motherboard. To optimize thermals in the small form factor case, the team installed a Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 low-profile cooler with a custom fan duct kit. Beyond the PC, the upgrade addressed home office aesthetics and functionality, incorporating Govee Neon Rope Light 2 for ambient lighting and an Epomaker Galaxy 100 mechanical keyboard. The project also extended to personal maintenance, with the installation of a custom multi-paneled seat cover from Kelpi Custom Moto on Lau’s Triumph Trident 660 motorcycle. The team also integrated a Eufy 3-in-1 robot vacuum for pet hair management and WeatherTech floor mats for his vehicle, demonstrating a holistic approach to improving both professional and personal environments.
