RAOfflineProxy enables offline achievement tracking for retro gaming emulators

RAOfflineProxy is a new application that allows users to earn and track RetroAchievements while offline on various Android and Linux-based retro gaming devices. By acting as a local proxy between the emulator and the RetroAchievements server, the app caches game data, enabling users to play without an active internet connection. Once the device reconnects to the internet, the proxy automatically syncs all earned achievements to the user's account. The application supports a wide range of emulators, including RetroArch, Dolphin, PPSSPP, and various custom Linux firmwares like Onion OS and muOS. Users can either manually scan their ROM folders or open games while online to cache them for future offline play. The app includes a "Smart Cache" feature that automatically identifies and caches recently played games. While the software is currently in an alpha state, it provides a functional solution for retro gamers who travel or lack consistent internet access, ensuring that their progress and achievements are preserved and synchronized.

RAOfflineProxy acts as a local middleman between emulators and the RetroAchievements platform to enable offline tracking. The application supports multiple emulators on Android, including RetroArch, Dolphin, PPSSPP, and ARMSX2.

Linux-based custom firmwares such as KNULLI, Onion OS, muOS, and ROCKNIX are also compatible with the proxy. Users can cache up to 100 games for offline use by scanning ROM folders or launching games while connected to the internet.

Earned achievements are stored locally and automatically synchronized with the RetroAchievements server upon reconnection. The application includes an autostart feature to ensure the proxy runs in the background without manual intervention.
