Apple introduces a redesigned camera app interface in the iOS 17 developer beta

The iOS 17 developer beta features a redesigned camera app interface that prioritizes accessibility by moving key settings from the top menu bar to a new, dedicated settings button located next to the shutter. This change allows users to quickly access context-specific adjustments, such as flash, aspect ratio, and night mode, without navigating through multiple menus. The update also introduces a dedicated Siri mode that utilizes visual intelligence to identify objects, landmarks, plants, and animals, while also providing nutritional information for food items. Additionally, the camera app now supports raw 9 image capture, which is designed to improve the rendering of raw files using a new core machine learning model that combines demosaicing and denoising. This feature is intended to enhance image quality across various devices, including non-Pro models, when viewed in the Photos app. While the interface redesign is currently available in the developer and public beta, Apple is expected to release the final version of iOS 17 to the general public this fall.
