Samsung is holding its summer Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event today, July 22, in London. The presentation, which begins at 2:00 p.m. BST, is expected to introduce a significant expansion of the company's foldable smartphone portfolio alongside new wearable technology. The event will be broadcast via a live stream on Samsung's official website, YouTube channel, and the Samsung Newsroom.

The foldable lineup is expected to include the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which reports suggest will feature a wider, passport-like aspect ratio when closed. This design shift aims to provide a more tablet-like experience when the device is opened. Alongside this, the company is anticipated to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which serves as a direct successor to the previous Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Ultra model is expected to retain a more traditional, taller aspect ratio while offering hardware improvements such as a 5,000 mAh battery and faster 45W charging.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is also slated for an appearance, with reports indicating a focus on physical refinements. The device is expected to feature a slimmer frame, with potential reductions in thickness, weight, and bezel size compared to its predecessor. While the Z Flip 8 is anticipated to maintain similar battery and camera specifications to the previous generation, the design adjustments are intended to modernize its form factor.

Wearable technology remains a core component of the event, with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 expected to debut. The Galaxy Watch 9 series is rumored to focus on improved battery longevity and may include a new Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset for enhanced processing efficiency. The rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is tipped to feature a significantly brighter display capable of reaching 4,000 nits and a larger 800mAh battery capacity.

Beyond established product lines, Samsung may provide details on its entry into the smart glasses market. Recent reports suggest the company is developing hardware built on the Android XR platform with deep integration for Gemini AI. Leaked information indicates these glasses could include a dashboard for managing camera captures and expanded ecosystem connectivity with other Galaxy devices.
