Logitech has introduced the MX Master 4 Developer Edition, a specialized version of its flagship productivity mouse that incorporates various programming-themed design elements. The device features a distinct two-tone gray color scheme accented with bright green highlights, departing from the more muted aesthetic of the standard model. The chassis is decorated with laser-etched circuit board patterns and various syntax-related motifs, including a "Hello, World" greeting on the thumb rest.
The design includes several references intended for software developers, such as markings for 0xFF + 1, 09.17, and !04.01. These are linked to World Programmers’ Day, the release date of the Linux kernel, and World Backup Day, respectively. Despite these visual additions, the mouse maintains the same ergonomic, asymmetric shape as the original MX Master 4, including the broad thumb platform and raised back profile.
Under the hood, the Developer Edition is identical to the standard MX Master 4. It retains the 8,000 DPI sensor, the MagSpeed scroll wheel capable of scrolling 1,000 lines per second, and the horizontal thumb wheel for navigation. The device also includes the Haptic Sense Panel, which provides physical feedback for notifications and supported actions, and the Action Ring button for triggering customizable shortcuts through the Logi Options+ software.
The mouse is powered by a 650 mAh battery that offers up to 70 days of use on a single charge, with support for USB-C quick charging and multi-device pairing. While the mouse includes references to Linux, Logitech does not currently offer a Linux version of the Logi Options+ software required to configure the Haptic Sense Panel or the Action Ring shortcuts.
The MX Master 4 Developer Edition is priced at $119.99 or €129.99, matching the cost of the standard model. Preorders are currently available on the Logitech website, with shipping scheduled to begin on October 31, 2026. The device comes with a two-year warranty.
