Google has launched a temporary open enrollment period for its Pixel Care+ protection plan, allowing current owners of the Pixel 9 and 10 series to add coverage to their devices. This window provides an opportunity for users who previously bypassed the protection plan to secure accidental damage coverage and repair benefits for their existing hardware. The enrollment period is active now and will conclude on August 2, 2026.

The coverage plan includes several benefits, most notably $0 battery and screen repairs for enrolled devices. Additionally, the plan offers unlimited accidental damage protection, which covers common mishaps such as drops or spills. Users also have the option to include loss and theft coverage as part of their protection package, providing a more comprehensive safety net for their mobile hardware.

To participate in this open enrollment, devices must be in good working condition at the time of purchase. Google specifies that phones must be fully functional and free from any existing cracks, mechanical defects, or signs of liquid damage to qualify for the plan. This requirement ensures that the protection program is applied only to devices that are currently operating without pre-existing hardware issues.

Eligible devices for this program include the entire lineup of the Pixel 9 and 10 series. This encompasses the standard Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL, as well as the budget-friendly Pixel 9a. Similarly, the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10a are all included in the offer. Owners can complete the enrollment process through the Google Store website or by using the My Pixel application installed on their devices.

While the program offers a path to extended support, Google notes that standard restrictions apply to the service agreement. Interested users should verify their device status and complete the registration before the August 2 deadline to ensure their eligibility. By acting within this timeframe, owners can gain access to repair services that would otherwise be unavailable once the standard warranty period or initial purchase window has passed.
