Apple has unveiled its fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, featuring the A19 chip, which the company claims provides up to 50% faster CPU performance and double the graphics speed compared to the previous A15-powered model. The updated streaming box includes three built-in far-field microphones to enable hands-free Siri AI voice control, supported by echo cancellation technology designed to isolate user commands from background media noise.
The new hardware supports advanced connectivity standards, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, alongside native decoding for AV1 and VP9 video formats. While Apple has not officially confirmed the memory capacity, reports indicate the device likely features 8GB of RAM. The unit is available in a single 128GB configuration and features a centered white status light on the front edge, with the chassis weighing approximately 1% more than its predecessor.
Home theater capabilities have been expanded to allow for surround sound configurations using up to four HomePod speakers, such as a combination of HomePod mini 2 units or a mix of full-sized HomePod 2 and HomePod mini 2 speakers. The device continues to function as a smart home hub, with Siri AI integration requiring an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad for queries involving personal user context.
Accompanying the new streaming box is an updated Siri Remote, which adds a built-in speaker for audible location alerts and support for the Find My network. The remote also features Precision Finding, which provides directional guidance to the device via an iPhone 17 or newer, iPhone Air, or iPhone Duo. The remote is constructed from 100% recycled aluminum and is approximately 6% heavier than the previous version.
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is priced at $299 and is scheduled for release on November 13, with pre-orders beginning immediately. The new Siri Remote is available separately for $59 and maintains backward compatibility with all Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD models released since 2015.
