Apple has released the first developer beta of macOS 27.2, just two days after the official public launch of macOS 27, also known as Golden Gate. The company bypassed a 27.1 release cycle, moving directly to the 27.2 build, which is identified by version number 26B5086k.
The update is currently available to registered developers through the Software Update section in System Settings. While official release notes for this specific beta have not yet been published, the release follows Apple's recent commitment to expand its new Siri AI capabilities. During a recent event, the company announced that Siri AI, which debuted in English, is scheduled to support five additional languages—French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish—starting in October.
The 27.2 beta is being closely monitored for the potential return of two Apple Intelligence features that were notably absent from the initial macOS 27 release. These include a tool within the Passwords app designed to automatically update weak or compromised credentials, and a feature in Messages that provides contextual suggestions for actions, such as inserting photos or adding events to the Calendar app.
The macOS 27 series focuses on refining the Liquid Glass interface introduced in the previous year's macOS 26 Tahoe update. Early feedback from testers indicates that the current software feels more responsive, with some users reporting performance improvements on older hardware. Apple has also implemented adjustments to transparency effects and other design elements to address user feedback regarding the interface.
