Apple and The King’s Trust have officially launched the Apple x King’s Trust Creative Labs, an immersive educational initiative designed to help young people pursue careers in creative industries. The program, which began this week in London, connects participants with Apple experts to develop professional skills and gain hands-on experience with company technology.
The inaugural cohort consists of up to 20 young people between the ages of 18 and 30. These participants are engaging in specialized workshops that focus on music and other creative fields. The sessions are hosted at the newly opened Apple Music Hall, located at the Battersea Power Station, providing a professional environment for students to learn industry-standard workflows.
This initiative expands upon a longstanding partnership between Apple and The King’s Trust, which is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. Since 2019, the collaboration has supported STEAM programming through the Achieve program and provided access to technology for students working toward Personal Development and Employability qualifications. The organizations are also developing resources to improve AI literacy among educators and students.
During the launch event, Apple CEO Tim Cook, King Charles, and Elton John met with the first group of participants to observe the workshops. The visit included a sound check by artist Skye Newman, highlighting the integration of the new education program with the venue's creative facilities. Apple plans to host additional sessions and cohorts throughout the coming year.
The program aims to equip young adults with the confidence and technical expertise necessary to succeed in the modern workforce. By providing direct access to mentorship and resources, the initiative seeks to foster equity and opportunity for participants across the UK. The King’s Trust has historically supported over 1.3 million young people since its founding in 1976, focusing on life skills and employment pathways.
